As Twitchy reported yesterday, Mariah Carey has officially joined “American Idol” as a judge. That’s left a bitter taste in Nimoy’s mouth. Who knew Spock harbored a secret desire to sit on a talent show judging panel (or that he can be easily bought)?
Nothing against Mariah Carey. I'm just saying….LLAP

We love ourselves some good-natured ribbing. Teehee!
Nimoy may just be playin’ around, but he’s got a lot of fans who’d love to see him in the “Idol” judge’s chair:
@TheRealNimoy Take the Steven Tyler vacated spot, it's still open. I'd give anything to see you dressed like Mr. Tyler!

@TheRealNimoy you forgot infinitely more entertaining, and nowhere near as annoying. Although she has a cuter rear end than you.
— Rick Givens (@RickGivens) July 24, 2012
@TheRealNimoy And definitely more credible to listen to. LLAP

@TheRealNimoy Not to mention more enlightened and more perceptive –

@TheRealNimoy and much more interesting I'm sure. "It's only logical that you do not have the singing talent to make it in this industry."
— Sara Start (@superstartsky) July 24, 2012
@TheRealNimoy you would have totally kicked ass, I would have watched. Now I'm not going to. 🙂

I would make the @TheRealNimoy a judge on all reality shows. His faculty of thought and reason has got the affect of great wonder!
— Sheldon Cooper (@sonofMaryCooper) July 24, 2012
@TheRealNimoy that would make that show SO amazing with you on it…of course, any show would be better with you in it!(:
— Leonard Nimoy Fan (@LeonardNimoyFan) July 24, 2012
@TheRealNimoy You hosting might be the only force on earth that would compel me to watch that show. Just sayin'. 🙂
— Hamaker88 (@Hamaker88) July 24, 2012
@TheRealNimoy Would've been more intelligent, thoughtful and intriguing, too. Just sayin' …
— ML Hart (@MsMartha_writer) July 24, 2012
@TheRealNimoy Certainly they could have used a better set of ears.

@TheRealNimoy but you don't look nearly as good in a low cut evening gown. Or do you?
— Nathan Safran (@Nathan_Safran) July 24, 2012
That’s for the viewers to decide.
@TheRealNimoy They must have wanted someone who wouldn't overshadow the other judges.
— J (@J2Metal) July 24, 2012
That’s a reasonable explanation. But “Idol” producers would be passing up a golden opportunity here.
For those of you questioning Nimoy’s musical know-how, here’s a refresher:
Where do we start a campaign? RT @TheRealNimoy Mariah Carey got the American Idol job replacing Jennifer Lopez.I was hoping to get the call.

Leonard Nimoy: The logical choice.
